Preparations Underway for the 2nd SUNRISE Summer School in Belgrade

Last week, Francisco Jesús Matas-Díaz, Assistant Professor at the University of Seville and member of the SUNRISE USE team, visited Belgrade to finalize preparations for the upcoming 2nd SUNRISE Summer School, titled “Accelerating Renewable Energy Integration: From Real-Time Simulation to Final Real-World Implementation.”

Hosted by the University of Belgrade – School of Electrical Engineering (ETF), the event will take place at the Palace of Science, Belgrade, Serbia, from July 7 to 11, 2025.

During his visit, Prof. Matas-Díaz performed on-site testing and validation of laboratory equipment that will be used in hands-on sessions during the summer school. The equipment setup will support real-time simulation exercises, enabling participants to explore advanced methods for integrating renewable energy into power systems, from concept to field implementation.

The summer school will bring together students, early-career researchers, and experts from across the SUNRISE consortium for an intensive week of lectures, demonstrations, and collaborative work.
